Air bubble curtain systems are one of the most popular management systems for canals and marinas throughout the world. These curtains keep floating debris and weeds from entering the canal or marina which would otherwise cause a significant decrease in water quality, an eyesore for property owners and guests, and a nuisance for watercraft.
How do air bubble systems work?
Air bubble diffuser systems are equally spaced and placed across the mouth of the canal. Using compressed air, each diffuser will release large amounts of air into the water column forcing the water to the surface creating a strong surface barrier. Our systems are built with both homeowners and boaters in mind.
We understand that these systems are a capital expense and not everyone understands the need and the benefits. The experts at Florida Keys Aeration are here to help educate and consult when needed.

Site Details We Need
To design the most effective system we will gather the following information about the area for placement:
- The depth at the mouth at low tide
- The width is the mouth of the canal
- Where is power to run the system located – The compressor cabinet for the air curtains require 230V single phase service.
Diffusers
- The stainless steel bases sit shallow on the bottom, about 2.0 inches tall.
- 9″ flexible membrane discs with MicronBubbleTM technology
- Designed to prevent sinking into soft bottom sediments
- Flexible EPDM membrane bubble emitters to minimize organic fouling
- Uniform bubble pattern regardless of length, depth or slope
- AirGate allows boats to pass while rejecting surface weeds and light debris
- No electrical components in the water for unrestricted recreational activities
- AirGate operation is safe for wildlife, fisheries and manatees
- Submersed materials are durable plastics, stainless steel and brass
- 5-year “No Questions” warranty
Compressor System
The Marine 33HE represents our most advanced technology yet in large single phase marine compressor systems.
- Super-duty 230V single phase HighFlow™ compressors – up to 30 PSI
- Industries highest flow rate – 33 Cubic Feet/Minute
- Epoxy coated compressor heads protect components against coastal environments.
- Heavy gauge, powder coated cabinet with reinforced and welded aluminum construction and stainless steel fasteners.
- Redundant Cooling System to protect from over-heating and premature motor failure.
- Automatic restart under full back pressure without damage following power supply interruption.
- Operates all models of marine grade AirGate emitters
- 3 years parts warranty excluding air filters and maintenance kits

Air Bubble Curtain Design
We offer free design services to ensure you get the right system and that the bubble diffusers are placed for optimal results. Our bubble curtain products are designed to prevent the maximum amount of organic and inorganic debris does not enter the area.
Bubble Curtain Installation
Installing a bubble curtain system requires a certified diver and a level of expertise to ensure that is works correctly. Our team at Florida Keys Aeration will explain the installation process and answer any questions you may have before we begin an install.
